00s boyband *NSYNC has said hello to the global Spotify chart’s top 20 after featuring in Marvel’s record-breaking threequel Deadpool & Wolverine.
The pop group – made up of Kirkpatrick, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and JC Chasez – dropped Bye Bye Bye in 2000 where it peaked at number three in the UK singles chart and topped the US Billboard charts.
Now, 24 years later, the song has enjoyed a major streaming resurgence thanks to joining the soundtrack for the MCU’s latest blockbuster helmed by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as the titular action figures.
The song appears in the intro and title sequence where Deadpool’s dancing double, Nick Pauley, puts on a routine that truly delighted fans.
Bye Bye Bye has since reached position number 13 in the global Spotify chart with 3,827,619 streams and counting. And, if that wasn’t enough, it has even entered the US iTunes top 40 for the first time in decades.
To acknowledge its re-entry into the limelight, the official music video published on YouTube in 2010 was even renamed *NSYNC – Bye Bye Bye (Official Video from Deadpool and Wolverine).
Meanwhile, the band’s official Instagram celebrated the chart news by reporting the stat alongside a number of applause emojis.
When asked about the dance sequence at a press conference, Ryan, 47, had nothing but praise for his double.
He said: ‘If it looks like the person who’s dancing doesn’t have arthritis, that’s him. There’s the moments where, you know, there’s a bit of a pop and lock, except the pop, the pop really pops, like it cracks. And the lock will not unlock.
‘So yeah, I would do anything I could to free myself up. But yeah, I will hang on Nick Pauley’s talent. I will hang my hat on his talent there and thank him for his contribution and services.’

Elsewhere, the dancer, Nick, took to Instagram to share his joy at being involved in the action-packed movie in which he calls himself Dancepool.
‘I can’t believe I have the honour of being [Ryan Reynolds] “dance” double for the opening scene of the entire movie!!! Like what?!? What is life?’ Nick wrote in the post’s caption while dressed in the trademark red suit.
He continued: ‘I hadn’t remembered what I freestyled in between the choreography, and it was hilarious to watch it back and be like “oh my god now I remember doing that.
‘When filming, I felt right at home. [Ryan and director Shawn Levy] – thank you for your encouragement and enthusiasm when bringing me onboard. It gave me a lot of purpose… an amount I haven’t felt in a while.’
Deadpool & Wolverine is currently experiencing a stratospheric rise in the box office.
It also smashed the record for the biggest opening weekend for an R-Rated movie in the US with a tidy sum of $205million (£160million). And it is set to imminently surpass $500million (£389million) at the global box office.
The third film also features Rob Delaney, Emma Corrin and Matthew MacFadyen.

It’s not the only major cultural moment Bye Bye Bye has been a part of in recent weeks.
Earlier this week, vice President Kamala Harris (who has her sights set on Presidential office come the US election in November) hopped onto TikTok to appeal to her growing Gen Z voter base.
One video saw an employee ask her: ‘What are we going to say to Donald Trump in November?’ to which she responded: ‘Bye bye bye’ just as the legendary chorus starts playing.
The seven-second video has already totaled 3.5million likes.
